California Skateparks

In 2003, the City of Lake Forest, CA, with the help of Etnies Shoes, opened the Etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest. This public/private partnership has been a great success for skaters and BMX riders, who regularly travel to Lake Forest to ride the park. Now the park is scheduled to get even better, with several new sections being planned.

You can Tour of the Existing Skatepark on Youtube, or view the BMX rules and regulations on the park’s website.

From the California Skateparks Website:

California Skateparks is proud to announce Mayor Peter Herzog and the Lake Forest City Council gave the go-ahead to award the construction contract for the 16,000-square-foot expansion of the Etnies Skate Park. California Skateparks plans to start the expansion in November and the completion is scheduled for the Spring of 2011.  The expansion includes adding a street-run to replicate real street skating  and also giving the park a good mix of obstacles for all style of skaters. The street run will be complete with a 3.5 feet deep mini bowl for beginners, a 6 stair, a pier-7 manual pad and a rooftop hip similar to the first Maloof Money Cup. The Etnies – Lake Forrest Skate Park has been voted best Skate Park in the county by OC Parent Magazine for the fourth consecutive year and the expansion plans to guarantee that this streak continues.
