South Beach Civic Association Meeting In Staten Island.

There were even more people from the Ben Soto Skate Park at the South Beach Civic Association meeting tonight than the last meeting. Congressmen elect Michael Grimm read the group a touching letter about a US Marine who died, and how his Brother (also a US Marine) accompanied his body to his final resting place in Arlington National Cemetery . It was a very emotional story.  Paula from Open Road followed Michael Grimm by addressing the needs surrounding the skatepark and I read a letter of my own too (see the letter here).  Grimm responded to my letter by promising to help fix the Ben Soto skatepark. He also guaranteed that he would meet with us about the abandoned airplane hangers in Miller field as soon as he is sworn into office. Afterward, state assembly elect Nicole Malliotakis, and Janine Maturna spoke about other community issues.

We would like to say thanks to RoseAnn, Joe McAllister and the rest of  South Beach Civic Association for letting us speak, and Virginia Sherry from the Staten Island Advance.
